Kimaura Martin is an environmental artist and founder of Piece and Quiet. Her work begins with attention: to the way proportion, material, light, and absence can change not only how a space looks, but how it is felt.

Working between Texas and Kentucky, Martin uses hand-pigmented sand to build restrained architectural fields on canvas. Each batch is mixed by hand, allowing variations in tone and grain—and the presence of the original sand—to remain visible. Measurement, repetition, and reduction guide her deliberate process.
